There's a guy named Paz Felicidad absolutely freaking out in the comments and then deleting them that Rocio is not based on Gardy. She is. Angel Studio has documented this.

I feel like I'm not going to enjoy any of what I learn in this series. So be it.

Thank you for doing a deep dive on this movie. Much to digest. I wonder if you would be willing to give us your perspective on Liz Crokin's substack series, in which she asserts that PizzaGate is real.

I've read about 2 paragraphs and this already screams "badly sourced nonsense" about as loud as a thing possibly can.

i've never heard of this lady and I don't usually just enjoy the experience of bashing cranks, usually there has to be some utility I don't see. Is she well known in your circles? I just don't want to write something as basic and unkind as "local woman is out of her gourd."

Thanks for considering it. She has "tens of thousands" of subscribers on substack, and more than 100,000 followers on Twitter. I think she is fairly well-known among conservatives. Does "badly sourced" mean non-factual? Can you refute her "facts"? I am not able to. The links she provides appear to be legit as far as I can tell.

I could give it a shot. I think the thing I'm primarily seeing is tenuous links. Namely, there is another use of the word "pizza." Sometimes people talking about pizza are referring to a flat bread with cheese and meat on it. In fact, that's usually what they're talking about.

Implicates Americans? Dude! You didn’t get the memo? If someone was implicated, those were the Colombians! Watch the movie again so you understand the point!

Liar! None of the events of the movie were based on what he said that happened in Haiti! Total lie! Events happened on 2014 in Cartagena! Look for Kelly johana Suarez the beauty queen that stole and trafficked children! There is even videos when the place sized the island worh the children!

Paz, the director of the movie literally said that Rocio is based on Gardy.

"The storyline in the film depicting Tim's unwavering determination to find "the one" is based on the true pursuit of a child named Gardy."

That's *from Angel Studios.* The movie takes place in Columbia but the story that inspired it happened in Haiti.

There were real kids named Rocio and Miguel, but Ballard met them before he started OUR. He met them while he was working for HIS.

Kelly johana Suarez is the mastermind of the children trafficking ring that creates the narrative of sounds of freedom! Whatever that sick person wrote here it’s totally irrelevant to the movie! What’s here is the real story of those poor children! Indeed!

Where is Kelly Johana SuĂ¡rez Now?

Upon arrest, Kelly Johana SuĂ¡rez and all eleven others were charged with human trafficking of minors, pimping, and pandering. As per investigations, the beauty queen would recruit minor boys and girls through her modeling agency, only to make them supposedly attend parties with foreign sex tourists. The entire operation happened after US agents began tracking a man from Miami who would often frequent Cartagena and be spotted with a taxi driver. The latter allegedly supplied the US national with explicit videos of young girls and boys and was part of a group that drugged and brought minors to parties to sell them to tourists.

At the time of her arrest, Kelly was held at the San Diego women’s prison in the Bolívar department. Although, since there haven’t been any public updates regarding the matter, we believe she’s still in prison awaiting trial. While Kelly maintained her innocence and claimed she was unaware of the child trafficking activities at the party, if convicted of the charges against her, she would face between five and 20 years of imprisonment. Nevertheless, since further details of the case haven’t been made public, we can only assume that the former Miss Cartagena contestant, now in her early 30s, is still detained and awaiting trial.

Are you sick? Why is this person trying to confused a true event? The narrative of the movie about what happened in Colombia im 2014, it’s totally! The beauty queen, 20 years old woman stealing children, fooling parents with the model and talent agency was true! It’s everywhere! Colombia has a long old history with pedophiles, human minors been trafficked by people! Those that tried to confused people about this movie, are maybe pesophiles too! This people are evil! And death sentence should apply for the that commit the crime on both ends! Traffickers and pesophiles should received death sentence!

There's 3 different stories that are combined to make one story in the movie.

I'm on the side of telling the truth.

I actually don't care about the movie very much one way or another. But I think there's an educational opportunity here in that (as I've continued to find the more I investigate), the evidence that the real child behind the story was taken by child traffickers the way we culturally think about it (basically, chattel enslavement, usually for sexual reasons) is incredibly flimsy. I also think a further educational opportunity is that if Gardy ended up in Yvrose's orphanage (and that's a big if), the systems that trafficked him are probably ones that American Christians participate in fairly regularly. I get more into that in Part 4.

I don't think it's wrong to make a fictional movie lightly inspired by true events. However, I think Americans need to know the actual story or we're going to create more Gardy's.

I got into this a bit in Part 3 and I have another part coming but I just don't think what Ballard thinks happened to Gardy is what actually happened.

I'm really trying to keep this to the realm of facts, not tin-foil hat conspiracy. I don't really have anything to say to these wild-eyed "the politicians are eating our kids!" things because I don't think they're positions people arrive at reasonably and therefore probably can't be reasoned out if it. My work here is, as much as I can, staying with what I can find documentation of, not the fantasy material you're writing about.

The numbers are also pretty similar to those found by researchers in subsaharan Africa. So I don't think Haiti is a huge outlier.
